Frequently Asked Questions
What are you all about?
Our mission is to make places of care a little brighter for children and their families. Blank walls rarely make people smile. We believe art has the power to encourage and inspire, so we want to share it with pediatric offices who might not have the resources to collect art on their own. You can read more about us and the Open Heart organization on our About page.
What kind of art do you accept?
All kinds of art! We accept original works (no posters, reprints or reproductions, please) on paper, canvas or in mixed media, photographs, sculptures, ceramics, or any other visual art form. Many of the pediatric offices where the art will be donated are small, high-traffic spaces, so we suggest works that can be hung on a wall. We ask that any donated piece be ready for installation, including any necessary hardware for hanging. We are looking for positive images that are appropriate for children of all ages and in a healthcare setting, so we reserve the right to return works in the rare cases where we determine they could not be placed in a pediatric medical office. Start your donation here or contact openheartfound@gmail.com for more information about the process.
I don’t have a piece of art I want to donate, but can I still contribute?
Yes, we accept financial donations to help with the costs of shipping, transporting, storing, installing and otherwise managing the art. Donations are used to cover these art-related costs. You can donate here.
How can a medical office sign up to receive art work from Open Heart?
That’s easy, just contact us at openheartfound@gmail.com to let us know you are interested.
Do you donate art exclusively to pediatricians?
Not at all, we work with any medical facility or office that sees children as part of their practice-including family medicine, community clinics, oncology, dermatology, dental offices, and anywhere else kids and their families go for care.
Where do you operate?
We are based in Northeast Ohio, but we accept art from donors and requests from pediatric facilities anywhere in the country.
